Tomorrow can't come fast enough

I have worked on several postings over the weekend...and just can't seem to wrap them up. At this point, they are a bit out of date....so figured I would start fresh on this Tuesday morning.

My parents have rented a cabin for our family this week. After a couple of crazy weeks at work, I decided that I needed a break and a vacation. I talked with my sister and neither of our Hubbys can leave during the week...so we have decided to drive on down ourselves tomorrow morning and join our parents. Branson bound...here we come!

I CAN'T wait to get there! We each have our own bathroom and bedroom...and I need a little vacation of my own. I am taking a couple of books....have a new swimsuit....and of course taking the cutest 2 year old ever....so there will never be a dull moment!
I hope to sit out here... ALOT!

We also plan to hit a couple of attactions....and of course...hoping to use the pools too...

So there you have it....this is what I have been looking forward to all last week and this week! I don't know if I will be able to sleep tonight as I am getting so excited! Now if someone would just pack for me!

Self Tanning

I have tried a lot of self tanners in the past 5 years. I have experimented A LOT! When I was in high school and college, I would use the tanning bed. But, I have learned that is not the best thing to do, so since quitting, self tanners have now become my new friend.

I thought I would give you all an idea of some of the products that I have tried and one new one I can't wait to try!

This first one is from Bath and Body Works - it is a spray tan. I started using it several years ago and it does work pretty well, as long as you spray evenly. The trouble I have had with it is that I spray heavier at certain times, so then my tan is uneven. It doesn't have much of a smell and does give a good tan though.
The next one is also from Bath and Body Works. I have used both this one and the bronzer. I prefer the one with the bronzer. However, I feel like it takes forever to dry and feel sticky all day wearing it.  The tan comes out pretty good and the nice thing with the bronzer included is you can see where you are putting it.
This Loreal' product is similar to the one from Bath and Body and is less expensive. I used this one all the time last year. It too has a bronzer and I feel like it does a great job. Just hate having it on my hands. The smell is ok...not too strong...but still takes a while to dry.
This year I decided to try tanning gloves from Dr. Denese on QVC.....they said your tan would last 5-7 days, you would dry instantly and there would be no smell.

My take on it is that you do dry pretty fast....at least I did. However, I was not impressed with the coverage. It was heavier on certain places than others and it wasn't as even as I had hoped. The color was great though and the smell was minimal. These however, were the most expensive and after 4 tries of applications....I decided to return them and get my money back.  And they took it with no problem.  So that was a positive!

And finally....you all know how much I love the Bare Escentual line....I seriously would be a Direct Sales lady if I could! This past weekend they had a mega size of Faux Tan with a brush (so I never have to use my hands to apply!) on special on QVC on Saturday. So I ordered.....and it has shipped! I hope it comes by the weekend! NO....I haven't tried it yet....and there are mixed reviews.....but I decided to give it a shot...if I don't like it...I will just return and get my money back again. I sure hope it works!!

There you have it...my take on self tanners. You just have to try them out and see what works best for you.
Any of you have ones you love?? Would love to hear about them!

Dreary Weekend

Friday I had the day off from work and truly enjoyed every minute! I had stayed up late on Thursday night and priced all the items for our sale.....here is the mess I started with....

I got up early the next morning and began setting it all up in our garage....by the time my Mom and sister had arrived....I felt like I was in great shape! The only thing I had left to do was sort through the clothes.

We headed out to grab a bite to eat for lunch and had a great time just spending time together....loved having them with me and of course Little "I" was here too.

Friday afternoon Hubs and I went to play 18 holes of golf. We finished just before dark and had a great time..even though neither of us played the greatest.

Saturday morning...I was up early....and it was raining. I must say the weather did not help our sale.....I was a bit bummed....but I did make $100.00.  Here is everything set up.

Due to the weather I had to move practically everything inside....so we had lots of people drive by...but not stop.....I have decided to keep what we have left set up in the garage as our neighborhood sale is this weekend...so I will give it one last shot since it is already ready.

I have posted the big furniture on Craigslist too...so hoping I can get rid of it all by Saturday!

Saturday afternoon, Hubs and I went to see the movie Robinhood. It was good! However, I had no idea that they are going to be making another one. So I was a bit lost during part of the story...but after watching it I get it now. I kept thinking this is not the story I know (like the one with Kevin Costner in it). It wasn't till the end that I understood what they were trying to do. Still good though..and I think Russell Crowe makes a much better Robinhood!!

Yesterday....well....it rained ALL DAY. And is still raining today! So I went to church, got some groceries and even took a nap. It was heavenly!

Hoping to see the sun some time soon! Our grass is going to be so tall by the time we mow it!

Back to work I go. :) Happy Monday!

My Thursday = My Friday

Another rainy morning here. It sure did storm last night! The house shook with the claps of thunder. Thank goodness Miss Bella doesn't freak out too much with the storms. It was still hard to sleep through the night though.....I think I have had enough of the rain for a few days.

Today is my Friday at work! Woo hoo! I am so ready and excited to have tomorrow off! My plan is to get all items for my sale priced by the end of then night tonight. Hoping that is the case as then I can spend Friday morning setting it all up in the garage and not have to do anything that evening.  I am trying to convince Hubby to take the afternoon off and go golfing with me. Unfortunately, he has a meeting, so not sure we will be able to do it or not. Bummer.

Watched the movie Crazy Heart last night. It was a sad and kind of depressing movie to me. However, it just makes me so thankful for not being in show business or a big musical star. I don't envy them at all.

Tried to make white bbq sauce last night....yeah...not such a big hit with us. I decided to make the recipe without horseradish sauce.....not good at all. May have to try it again someday....but not in the near future. The chicken recipe was good though...will share on my recipe blog.

I will be up late tonight pricing items. I don't want to stop till I am done...then I can sleep in tomorrow...or at least I can hope too.  Hoping to get some pictures taken as well....

My devotion this week is focusing on Proverbs 31.  One of my favorite scriptures...I will leave you with this verse.

Proverbs 31:26 "When she speaks, her words are wise, and kindness is the rule for everything she says."

Closet organization

Last night I tackled our laundry room and closet. Our laundry had gotten so bad that all of the clean laundry was piled up on top of our dryer and over flowing in the laundry basket. I had been neglecting that area for a few weeks.  Some how...at 9:00 I found some built up energy and began organizing, folding, putting away all of our laundry, plus did 2 loads. I reorganized all my pants, jeans, and shorts and made a pile I plan to sell at our garage sale on Saturday.

I wasn't stopping till I was finished. That closet shines this morning! It made me so happy to walk into it...and I found the dryer....so that is always a plus too!

The garage sale piles keep growing...how on earth do we accumulate so much stuff! My goal this week is to get it all priced and organized in piles by Friday am. I have decided to take Friday off so that I can spend time getting the tables set up...so that I am not having to do it late that evening.

Hoping and praying for no rain! There is a 30% chance right now.....really don't need rain or cold weather!

I am taking it slower this week with working out.....it is always such a great sense of accomplishment after running a 5K. I am already wanting to plan my next one...which I think might be in Sept!  We'll see. The Mother's Day run was so great...I think my sister and I want to try and do it every year. What a great way to spend the morning! Hoping Mom and maybe our SIL will join us next year and walk.

Not sure how much I will blog this week due to prepping for the sale. I will try and keep you all updated via Twitter. I know a lot of you use Facebook....however I have taken a step back from it.  I was linking all my Twitter messages with FB, but due to a couple of things I have decided not to do so anymore. I will still keep my FB account active, but not sure how much I am going to use it or update my status from here on out. So if you want to know what is going on with me...check me out on Twitter or my blog!

Thanks friends! Have a great Tuesday!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to you all! Here is my Mom and Sissie today after lunch. Love these to ladies! SO happy I got to share part of the day with you both!

Our 5k run was a success and we all enjoyed ourselves. I didn't like getting up so early, but survived and came home and crashed this afternoon and took a long nap! Hubby even ordered Chinese for dinner...so I didn't have to cook all day. So thankful!

My sister and her hubby took additional pictures of our day. So be sure to check out her blog...just click HERE. I have a video of munchkin that I hope to put on the blog...it is a bit long...but I just love it!

Hoping you all had wonderful Mother's Day! Thankful for all of you in my life!

Oh yes...had to share this picture too.....it is of Grandma and Munchkin and the gift they made for my sister.

Let the randomness continue..

Not much has been happening at our house this week. We have been going to bed early at night and I have pretty much avoided the computer after 5 each day. Hard to believe...I know!

I have A LOT to do this weekend before our garage sale next Saturday.Oh goodness! You should see the piles! I will have to take a picture for y'all! I am really hoping for a sunny day next weekend and for it to be warmer...good grief! I am tired of the 60s! I have also been reading all about tips for having a successful sale. So this garage sale is sure to be bigger and better than the one I had last year! At least that is my plan! :)

5K is Sunday morning...8:00 am...say a prayer for my sissie and I! Oh my....it is going to be cooler than expected....and it is going to definitely be an early morning!

I haven't been able to put any recipes on my blog...as I haven't really been trying anything new. We have gone to a low carb diet in our house as of Monday. Must say...not my favorite thing to do....but Hubs is wanting to lose about 50 lbs....and this typically works best for him. So.....veggies and meat are the menu each night. Thank goodness it is grilling season!

I have been eagerly waiting for our roses and daffodils to bloom in front of our house....I looked for the buds last night....they are FINALLY there....so will try and patiently wait a little bit longer.

Two more chapters left to read in Beth Moore's So Long Insecurity book. LOVE IT! It is a must read for you all you ladies out there! Trying to put into practice what I am reading...sometimes easier said than done.

Still loving the new powder room color. Hubs wants to put that color on the walls in the basement. It looks much brighter in the pictures I took than in person....might have scared some of you! ha! It is really soft and pretty when you walk in....and even this morning...Hubby came out and said I really think the bathroom got bigger! TOO FUNNY!

I think our next door neighbor may have sold her house...not sure. The sign is still out front, but last week I saw what looked like a realtor/lawyer or someone of that nature pull into her driveway and spend at least an hour at her house...today at lunch..a repairman was there. I haven't seen her out and about so I can't ask her...but she didn't hold an open house last weekend either...and that is the first time she hasn't. Guess I will find out soon enough...just praying for the right neighbors to move in.

I am ready for the work day to be over....is it 5 yet?  Happy Friday!

A bit of randomness

1. We woke up this morning and discovered that our refrigerator was no longer working. The temperature had gone up from 37 degrees to 65 in just a matter of hours. When I arrived home at lunch it was at 88. So..we just unplugged it and moved all that we could into our freezer and two coolers. We have a couple of bags of trash too. The serviceman is supposed to be here tomorrow morning. Praying it doesn't cost a fortune to get it fixed!

2. I am trying to get things ready for our garage sale next weekend. I have a huge pile in Y's room....and it is calling me...hoping to begin working on tomorrow.

3. Golf lessons are going so well. We went to the driving range after work yesterday and I am feeling more confident each day. I can see myself finally enjoying an entire golf game!

4. I don't speak about this much....but Hubs and I have had our rough moments in the last month...but Praise GOD we have been doing well the past few weeks. I know many of you are and I thank you, but if you have a free moment and you feel the need to, please lift him up/us up in your prayers. My husband needs Jesus and I am praying that he one day finds him again.

5. My sister and I are running our 5K on Sunday. The forecast is showing rain.....praying it holds off until after the run.

6. Little "I" asked me on the phone this evening if I wanted to go on a walk....my heart melted. Love that boy!

7. We have started cutting out carbs during the evenings...SO HARD. Hubby wants to lose about 50 lbs...and I would love to lose about 10-15.....I must start working out more!

8. I have been frustrated with my job.....not feeling motivated or eager to go to work. I honestly wish I could just stay home and a homemaker.

9. I feel so bad for all those in Nashville that have been affected by the flood. So sad....praying for them all!

10. I have missed church the past few weeks and will again miss it this week. Can't wait to get back into a groove. Really missing it

There you have it...a bit of my randomness.....

Hello Buddy

This posting is going to have a lot of pictures...but I wanted to share about Little "I's" first sleepover at our house.  He is such a busy 2 year old now and there is NEVER a dull moment with him around. He is constantly talking or singing and I loved every minute! He saw Bella right away and called her Buddy (which is the name of my parents dog). All weekend long...he would ask where Buddy was. I tried correcting him, but he just must have thought Buddy sounded better.

When he arrived on Saturday it was around lunch time so as soon as Mommy left we sat down for some pizza, fruit and veggies. He decided to try some celery...he even posed for me!

After lunch we decided it was time to go outside and play....we spent A LOT of time out there and he and Bella both had fun. In fact yesterday morning, we were out walking around the block and he just kept saying, This is so much fun!

He wanted to pretty much do anything Bella was doing...lay in the grass, look under the deck, eat grass, lick worms on the sidewalk...you name it and he copied her. Oh my!

He also loved playing in our "GARDEN". He would crawl behind our bushes and say "Look, I'm in the garden!"

He is really into the Three Little Pigs and decided that in the backyard he was building a house of bricks. He just paced up and down our property line with the help of Bella.

And....every time the garage door was open....he found this to sit on.....and pretend drive.

As much as I was looking forward to having him all to myself, I was so happy Hub's plans changed and he was able to spend some time with us too. Little "I" wanted to know where he was all the time....and they had plenty of tackle and tickle time too.

I was a little bit concerned about if he would sleep good and where he would sleep. But we put him in our guest bed and he was out in less than 5 minutes....I decided to sleep in there with him...just in case...he sure talks in his sleep. I can't remember how many times he would say "More". Too funny!

He woke up the next morning and told me he wanted corn, broccoli and carrots for breakfast....interesting combination for sure! Instead we had some toast and fruit! He sure mimicks everything you say now....I don't know how many times I heard..Oh My Goodness...Oh My Gosh....Well For Heavens Sake. Too FUNNY!

Here are just a few more of my favorite little guy....Love you munchkin!

From Chocolate to.......

Ripe Wheat - I love love love this color!! I still have a few more things like a rug and maybe one other item...but for the most part...here it is!

I forgot how much painting a small bathroom is a challenge! I had in my mind that it would take me just a few hours...however I started at 6:00 and ended at almost 11:00. I did take one break for dinner and running to Home Depot....but was so glad I got it done.

I used the Ripe Wheat color from BEHR at Home Depot. Thanks for the suggestion of the paint plus primer! I did two coats and it worked awesome!

I was so happy that I got it done on Friday night as Hubby had a change of plans Sat afternoon and called to tell me he was on his way home due to a bike breaking down. Good thing my surprise for him was ready!

He arrived last night around 9:00 and was pleasantly surprised! He said it looks so much better and bigger! I think the combination of the lighter color as well as the large painting makes it look BIG...when it is so tiny!

I just walk by the powder room and smile.....ahhh it now makes me happy!

I have had a very busy weekend with the Munchkin being here. He wore me out, but I had the BEST time with him. He is such a talker now...never a dull moment for sure! Our house sure is quiet tonight....I keep singing the song he chimed all weekend...Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf? Oh my what fun we had!

I have lots of pics to share but will wait until tomorrow. I am exhausted and ready to catch some sleep.

Night all!
