Craft Room update....

So I am finally getting around to updating you all on what has been going on in the craft room. It is still a work in progress, but I have added a few creations to the wall. Hopefully, you can get the idea. We still have some shelving and other items to hang, but I have several different projects going at the same time, so eventually I will get it done. These frames I have had for years, I removed the pictures that I had in them and placed black and white scrapbook paper in each one for designs. They turned out pretty good.

Here is my scrapbooking desk. I have glass jars that belonged to my Grandma's that I hope to fill with all kinds of craft items. I also hope to add storage underneath.

I bought these letters and spray painted them black and hot glued the ribbon to the back of each and used a tack to hang them on the wall, they look better in person...I plan to add something at the top for a border, but haven't figured out what yet.

Bought a new valance for the room from Target. With the color of the window blind as well as the computer desk, the wood balances out in the room.
That's just a taste of what I hope is in store for this room. At this point it is a room that I can now work in, so that makes it so nice! Finally unpacking the sewing machine tonight....I can't wait! It's been a box for too long!
Have a wonderful day! Stay warm!

Massage day

This weekend was "girls" weekend for the Kemerling ladies. For Mother's Day this year, my siblings and all of our spouses got together and gave a gift certificate to our Mom to the spa. The deal was that we girls would go with her to get pampered too. After trying to figure out what weekend would work best, this past weekend was decided. So we all met at Kara and Tim's house early Saturday morning to head to the spa.
I think that we can all agree that the massages were amazing and wonderful and we all slept really good on Saturday night. I had a Hot Stone Massage and it was so relaxing and warm! hehe!
After our massages, we spent the afternoon having lunch and shopping at the Briarcliff Village in Kansas City. Lots of fun! I so enjoy hanging out with my mom and sister and sister in law! We laugh and laugh together!
The rest of my weekend was spent taking care of Mike. He has been sick with a horrible cold/flu/sore throat thing and I am ready for him to get better.
If you have a free moment today, please say a prayer for Stephanie Vest. Her website link is on the left side of my blog. The doctors have found cancer in her liver and she is very sick. She and her family could use many prayers right now. Some of her friends have posted pictures of her pink laundry room on her website too. Oh how I love that room. I don't think I could get Mike to let me paint ours pink...but it is awesome!
Anyways, I can't believe that Halloween is this Friday. It's almost Thanksgiving! Hope you all are enjoying the fall weather and colors! Have a great Monday!

Babysitting

Last night I had the privilege of babysitting my nephew, Isaac. He is growing so fast and I love every minute that I get to spend time with him. The biggest thing he did last night was spend the evening shake his head back and forth like he was saying "no". Everytime I would say yes, he would shake his head, like....no Auntie D....so fun!

He also spent a lot of the night screaming a high pitched screech, saying dadadadada and mamamamama....won't be long before he is putting words together.

Inlaws trip to KC

The rest of the time Mike's parents were with us we took them to the World War I Museum, the Chief/Broncos game as well as the Steamboat Arabia Museum. Great tourist attractions that I recommend to anyone! Above are some pictures of our adventures. :)

Jesse James Home

Mike's parents made a trip out to see us a few weeks ago. We took them to a couple of historic locations that none of us had been to before. The first stop was the home and farm of Jesse James. It was a really interesting place and the tour guide was full of information. Below are a few photos of the house, as well as a copy of what the headstone of his burial site looked like. We recommend heading up to Kearney to see for yourself. The area it is located it is absolutely gorgeous!

More pictures

Mike has worked hard on putting his shop together in our garage. He still has some more to do, but I had to take a picture. It's so great for him to have a place for all of his tools and toys!
Our roses in the front of our house have been blooming non stop all summer long. They have been beautiful! If there is one flower that I absolutely love...it would be roses!

Fall

Our first fall in our house. Nothing like the cool air and the leaves turning, even if it is on our little tree. :)
I love decorating for fall!
We stained our deck a few weekends ago. We still need to do some touch up, but you get the idea!
Mike has worked hard on thickening up our lawn this summer. He added so much fertilizer, it's like carpet now!
Our little tree...I can't wait to watch this grow!

Weekend update

So as some of you might notice. I haven't got much more done on the blog. Our weekend was busy with just enjoying being at home and not having anything to do. I promise updates and more pictures soon! I was planning to work on it last night, however Mike and decided to go to Home Depot and to a movie and then came home to install 3 ceiling fans in the rooms upstairs. Well, we disconnected the power, but found we don't have everything we need, so I am running back to Home Depot tonight to get the rest of the items. Needless to say, we don't have power in part of our upstairs because their are wires just hanging from the ceiling. Hoping to finish it tonight.

We did see the movie Eagle Eye, if you want a great suspenseful movie, I would recommend it. I had no kind of expectation going in to the movie, but I really enjoyed it. We also watched the movie Sex and the City on Friday evening. I know...I got Mike to watch it with me! Now I have never been one to watch their shows, but I really liked the movie. A good chick flick.

I spent Sunday afternoon outside washing my car for probably the last time this season. Sounds like it is going to get cold and rainy here in the next few days. Go figure...I just washed my car!

The rest of the weekend was nice and relaxing as well. We had breakfast out Saturday morning, went and got some movies to watch, and I vegged on the couch all day, while Mike took a nap and we watched movies. I also began working on a christmas present...so excited! I didn't even clean this weekend. Which for me, is a miracle. It is very hard for me to sit still, ask Mike. I think I drive him nuts sometimes.

Anyways, I just wanted you all to know why it is taking me longer to get more updates on here. I promise...they are coming...the office/craft room is almost done and then I can begin working on the computer more. :)

Make it a great day!

Chicken and Noodles

INGREDIENTS
1 Bag of Frozen Reames Egg Noodles (I have used Hyvee's brand too)
1/2 cup finely chopped carrots
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
1/2 cup finely chopped green onion
1/2 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
32 oz. chicken broth
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 Rotisserie Chicken (remove meat from the bones)
Dash of Sage
Dash of Garlic Powder
Dash of Salt
Dash of Pepper

DIRECTIONS
Boil bag of frozen noodles as directed on the package. (takes about 30 minutes to cook)
Once the noodles are cooked and the water is drained, place the noodles as well as all of the ingredients in a large pot and bring to a boil. Once boiling, turn the temperature down to a simmer and cover, simmer and stir occasionally for 30 minutes.

Delicious! A wonderful comfort food. I made this recipe for my friends Neil and Leslie and their son, Jackson, who just brought home their new baby boy and brother, Landon, who was born on Monday. Congratulations! Thanks for letting me stop by last night and hold him for a bit. He is precious!

Updates

As you can probably tell, I am working on updating our blog. It is a work in progress, but I am getting there. First of all, I have changed the name. Oh Fiddlestix....one may ask...where did this come from? A phrase I believe I got from my Grandma Bradfield when I was growing up...and it has stuck. I can remember the first time Mike heard me say "oh fiddlestix"...he laughed and asked where did I get such a saying....and I just smiled...and said Grandma Bradfield.

We have been living in Missouri since March, and I figured the name needed to be changed to something different than the ordinary.....so....that is what I came up with...Oh fiddlestix.... :)

On this site you will find all sorts of information. I have added several different links for you all to check out.

One is for prayer requests. Shawndra Turner and Stephanie Vest are two women, whom I have never met, but I have the utmost respect and admiration for them both. They are both around my age and are located in the Kansas City area and these women are fighting battles with cancer. I have been following Shawndra Turner's blog for over a year, I found it through Jennifer Ireland's blog, that my friend Rachael had sent to me when I was living out in Jersey. I found Stephanie Vest's blog through Shawndra's site. If you have a moment or two, please check out their sites, read their stories, and say a prayer for each of them and their beautiful families. They are two extraordinary women that I pray for daily.

I have also added a place for my favorite scripture.I hope that you enjoy them both. The first scripture I have added is my favorite verse, something my Grandma wrote in notes and cards that she would mail to me. In fact, one of the last letters I received included a copy of the pastor's notes from his sermon on this scripture. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11. I need to be reminded of this on a daily basis. He already has things planned out for me, I just need to be patient and wait.

I have also added some of my favorite blog sites to visit as well as some shopping sites. I hope you all enjoy browsing as much as I do. Any questions about any of them, let me know....I go to each of them quite off and have ordered off of all of them.

Some other items I hope to add to the site are:
-Favorite Recipes
-Slideshow Pics
-Craft ideas

Hoping this site becomes more user friendly and interesting. :) I hope to get pictures of the inside of our house posted this weekend...as well as some other interesting items....be on the look out!

Have a wonderful Friday!
