Mental Health Day

Today I took a day off....you could call it....a Mental Health Day...everyone should take one every now and then!

I just wanted to get some stuff done around the house, spend some quiet time, work on handbags, have lunch with my sissie and nephew, organize our storage area in the basement, make a little money (sold my Coach handbag to a lady who was interested in it!) and take a walk. Well...I have done just about all of that! I am still working on handbags...but everything else I have accomplished! Plus, I am making some yummy shrimp casserole for dinner! (on the recipe blog if you want to know more about it)

It's been a good day......I feel like I can make it throught tomorrow at work and then be ready for the weekend! Yea!

Kid, Little "I" and I had lunch at First Watch! SO GOOD! We ran to Target and got to just hang out for a while....always good to see them both. Little "I" is quite amazing...I must say....such a little boy....no more baby in him....and it amazes me to watch him discover everything! I still get my kisses from him though....which is just....(sigh) PRECIOUS.

I took a couple of photos...but have yet to download them to my computer...will try and put them on later.....time for some dinner!

Enjoy your evenings!

It's a start

When I began this blog I wanted it to be similar to a daily journal of what is going on in my life. My Grandma B always kept a journal and I look forward to reading them and remember all that happened years back. I know that nowadays you can get your blog printed out and put in a binder of some sort....perhaps that is what I will do one day.

Obviously, a lot has been going on in my life and I thought I would share a bit. I am trying to begin my own business and be successful at it and I am really excited about it, but bummed that I just can't find enough time in the day with working a full time job. Perhaps, one day it can be my full time job! Either way, it just helps me relax and makes me happy so that is a good thing!

I have found a church that I have really enjoyed going to. It is a smaller congregation than I am use to, but it feels like home. I am excited to become more active and involved! I hope to volunteer in some aspect, but am undecided at this point what direction I want to go. This is such an answer to prayer!

For those of you who have been keeping up on my blog....you know the topic of having a child of my own is a tough subject. (for reasons I have explained before). However, I have something to share that is in the beginning stages....but would like to ask all of our family and friends near and far to be in prayer about for us.

After many long talks with hubby over the past month, we are in the beginning stages of looking into adoption. I don't know where God will lead us with this, but we are both interested in adopting a young child between the ages of 3-5. I am not sure even where to begin, but I do have a couple of people I am planning on contacting who have gone through this process. You might ask why not try and have a child of our own? To be honest, I am not sure that I can and I have not been to the doctor to find out. However, I am not willing to take any kinds of medicine to try and help the process. And Hubby and I both feel that there are so many children out there who need a home and family to love them that we would like to offer that to a child. So...it's a start for us...we both agree....we'll see what happens.

So there you have it...what is going on with me.

Off to post some recipes! Check out the Anna Phyllis blog too! I have done some updating there as well!

Enjoy your day!

Broken cord

Yes. That is my excuse for not blogging. My laptop adapter cord has been broken and I couldn't charge my laptop and was to busy to sit down upstairs in the craftroom to blog. One of the reasons we got the laptop is to that I could sit around with Hubby and work on the computer while he watches his shows. Without a laptop, I spent time doing other things this weekend.

I ran to Best Buy tonight and bought a new cord...so I am back in business. Boy was it pricey!

This weekend was busy. Friday evening I prepared for the garage sale on Saturday. Saturday morning the garage sale was a success. We got rid of Hubby's two recliners and several other items. I have a pile of stuff to go to Goodwill and feel good that it is over.

My parents came down Saturday evening and we went out to dinner at my favorite place....The Corner Cafe. Oh it was so GOOD. I just can't say enough about that place...I have yet to have anything horrible there. It was great to spend some time with my parents. I miss them and feel like we don't get to see each other enough...it was relaxing and I enjoyed every minute!

Sunday, Hubby and I spent the day around the house doing yardwork, laundry, and cleaning. Never a dull moment!

Now it's back to work this week.

I have been busy cutting fabric and putting new styles of bags together....I am a little behind in posting updates....but promise I will get it all done this week!!

Have a good night!
